Stainless steels are used in a wide variety of applications, due to their excellent corrosion resistance properties. In order to achieve this it is necessary to carry out appropriate cleaning and finishing processes during fabrication, thereby preventing any impairment in steel surfaces.

It is widely used in chemical industry, food machinery, electromechanical, environmental protection, electrical appliances and home decoration industry. There are many kinds of stainless steel surface treatment technologies, and there are different methods according to different use functions.

How Stainless Steel Finishing Works


Producers can also enhance stainless steels using more traditional methods such as painting and enameling, which provide a decorative surface; they do not impart any increases in strength, toughness, or other physical properties. Other rudimentary processes such as electro-polishing, barrel rolling, bead blasting and dry etching do make an impression on the top layer of the metal and can therefore impart a certain amount of surface toughness on the finished component.
